Sell 10K Gold Necklace in Tecumseh, MI — Top Cash Paid at Westland Exchange
10K is the most common gold sold in Michigan — it's what most department-store and mall chains were made from, and it's stamped 10K, 417 or 10KT. It's 41.7% gold, so a 10K necklace is worth real money by weight even when the style is dated or the clasp is broken. We test it in front of you, weigh it on a legal-for-trade scale and pay on the gold content that day.
Tecumseh sits about 48 miles from our counter — roughly 55 minutes door to door. Take M-50 east to US-23 north, I-275 north, Ford Rd east, Wayne Rd north to Warren Ave. If you are starting near Downtown Tecumseh and Hidden Lake Gardens, it is a straight, easy run with no downtown traffic to fight.
Tecumseh customers call ahead for a locked gold quote before the hour drive.
Selling 10k gold necklace here rather than shipping it away means you see the scale, you see the test, and you leave with cash in hand instead of waiting on a mailed check from an out-of-state refiner. Tecumseh customers do this every week, and most of them tell us the drive was shorter than they expected.
We are open monday – friday 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM and saturday 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM. Bring a valid photo ID — Michigan law requires it for any pawn or purchase — along with the 10k gold necklace itself, and the whole visit usually takes a few minutes.

What we look at when buying 10k gold necklace
- 1Total weight in grams — length and link style matter far more than looks
- 2Confirmed 10K purity (we acid and electronically test; plated pieces stamped 10K GF or HGE are not solid gold)
- 3Whether the clasp, tag and jump rings are also gold or a base-metal replacement
- 4Whether the piece resells as-is (a clean, current style earns a premium over melt)
Typical weights and sizes
A 20-inch 10K rope chain usually runs 8–20 grams; a light 18-inch box chain can be 3–5 grams. Two necklaces that look identical can differ 3× in weight, which is why we never quote by photo alone.
Where to look for the marks
Look inside the clasp or on the small tag next to it for 10K, 10KT, 417 or 0.417. GF, GP, HGE, RGP or 'plated' means gold-filled or plated — not solid.
What to bring from Tecumseh
Bring these and the whole visit takes a few minutes.
- Valid state ID (required by Michigan law)
- All the gold you have — broken, tangled, single earrings, dental gold all count
- Any receipts, appraisals or original boxes if you have them (helpful, not required)
Sell vs. pawn your 10k gold necklace
Sell outright for the highest cash amount today, or pawn it and get it back — pawn loans on gold are the easiest loans we write because the value is objective and the item stores in our vault.
Need the 10k gold necklace back? A pawn loan keeps it safe in our vault while you use the cash — no credit check and nothing reported to any bureau.

FAQ
Selling 10k gold necklace in Tecumseh — answered.
Is a 10K gold necklace worth anything if the chain is broken?+
Yes. Broken chains are paid on weight and karat exactly like intact ones. Bring the whole chain including any loose links or the broken clasp — every gram counts.
How much is a 10K gold necklace worth per gram?+
It's set by that day's gold market and the weight of your chain. Our current 10K per-gram number is posted on our gold prices page and updated daily — bring the chain in and we'll weigh it and give you the exact dollar figure on the spot.
Do you buy 10K necklaces with a pendant attached?+
Yes, and we value the pendant separately — if it holds a diamond or a collectible medallion it's often worth more than its gold weight, so don't remove it before you come in.
